Jennifer L. Armentrout, New York Times bestselling author of the Wait for You series, delivers a new novel of first love, second chances, and scorching chemistry between an artistic bartender and the tough, sexy cop who's determined to win her.
Roxy's loved Reece Anders since she was fifteen, so when the straitlaced cop finally surrendered to a steamy encounter years later, Roxy hoped he'd fall for her, too. He didn't. Or that's what she's always believed. But then Reece storms back into her life when the man who injured her childhood friend is out of prison and wanting to make amends—something Roxy cannot do.
The last thing she wants is to go there with Reece again, but he's determined to prove to her that he's exactly what she needs. Especially when a sick creep starts messing with her. But what's more dangerous to Roxy—a psycho after her or the past that refuses to let go and allow her to open up her heart again?

My Review Updated

Summary

Its been eleven months since Roxy and Reece have been civil to each other. Roxy has been in love with Reece since she was fifteen years old. But eleven months previous, he was drunk and she took him home but he practically rejected her at the time and she has kept a certain truth from him for almost a year and she knows she needs to tell him the truth, but fears his hatred of her. When he starts a pursuit of her in a very determined way, she knows that she will have little choice. Meanwhile, Roxy is struggling with losing her best friend Charlie, who was attacked by the blow to the head, and never recovered who he truly was. The man responsible is just getting out of prison, and there is a dangerous stalker on the loose. As Reece and Roxy work out past issues, there is a danger lurking that could keep Reece from protecting the one woman he has always loved.

The Hero

Reece Anders, a police offer and ex marine, is quite the alpha male. He is all about “protect and serve” and he loves the career his life has chosen for him. Reece abhors lies, and for a very good reason. His father is incapable of being faithful to one woman. He and his brother have had to bear the brunt of it most of their lives. But Reece refuses to accept anything but the truth. Reece is a man that goes after what he wants and doesn’t let anything stand in his way. He is confident and a bit cocky at times but utterly sexy in every way. What I liked about Reece is his nature to protect those especially a certain woman he has always cared about but has never let her in until now.

The Heroine

Roxy comes from a loving family, and knows how lucky she is to have been raised by loving if a bit eccentric parents. Roxy is a lover of the arts, she has a great talent when it comes to painting and drawing, however she is attending college for graphic design, but not because its her passion but because she bears the guilt of what happened to her best friend Charlie. Roxy can be a bit impulsive and lets her anger get a hold of her without thinking. She can go into a situation without thinking things through. But I loved Roxy in so many ways. She has fire in her and I found her nature so intriguing. I loved how loyal she is, especially to her friend Charlie.

Plot and Story Line

After reading Stay With Me, I was so eager to read Roxy and Reece’s story, especially since we saw hints of the chemistry between them in Stay With Me. But when I saw the price at only.99 cents I grabbed it right up!!! Because what a great price for a good romance. There were quite a few things that I had a fun time with on this book. What I enjoyed most was seeing Reece and Roxy work through their differences to find some common ground. It was very interesting seeing how they come together in the end here.

I’m scared, too. And there are times I question what I deserve, but we’re in this together. So fall with me,

I was very fascinated by the idea of a stalker, that was different and it has been so long since I read a story with that aspect in it. The actual romance between Reece and Roxy was splendid, I did like how they worked through their problems and create a solid connection to each other. Boy do these two have chemistry!!! HOT!!!

kissed me like he had all the time in the world. Slowly at first, just a brushing of his mouth against mine, and then deeper, parting my lips with his tongue. It wasn’t just a kiss. Not when his tongue danced over mine or the way he tasted me. Reece turned kissing into an art form, and if I had to attach a color to it, to get it on canvas, it would be supple shades of reds and purples.

There are some tear jerking moments though, especially in the end there, and I am still not sure about that twist because the circumstances surrounding Charlie just about broke my heart but I did like seeing Roxy come to terms with her past and make changes for her present and future that definitely lightened her up in ways that I felt were needed to happen.

The Cover

ooh I love this cover and how often do we have covers with the female models that wear GLASSES!!! WOWZERS…I love that.

Overall View

Fall With Me was a sensational addition to this marvelous New Adult romance series J Lynn has created for us!!! Loved the unique dramatic twists and romantic developments and seeing some other couples we love as well play a part in it.

Oh, I do like the sound of this one though I can see at a glance what will cause all the trouble. 🙂 I read her YA Sci-fi. One of these days I need to try her adult books.

Nice review! I really enjoyed this one, too! Roxy and Reece were fantastic together. And the added plot threads about the stalker and her poor friend Charlie kicked this one up a notch, for sure.
