The complete collection of the Caelen's Wife Series includes A Murmur of Providence, A Whisper of Fate, and A Breath of Promise.

Rumor has it the water on Clan McPherson lands is magical….

Clan McPherson has known peace amongst their neighboring clans for more than one hundred years. That peace is threatened when Fiona McPherson is made chief after the death of her husband.
Known more for her fighting skills than her beauty, Fiona refuses the multiple proposals of marriage that begin to seemingly arise from nowhere. She may be the chief of her clan, but she’s still a woman. It isn’t Fiona they want, but her land and she’s willing to fight to the death to keep it.

Rumor has it Caelen McDunnah has lost his mind…

Caelen McDunnah, the chief of Clan McDunnah, has no desire to remarry. He’s perfectly content to still mourn the loss of his first wife and babe, even if it has been sixteen years. Until he meets the beautiful and feisty Fiona McPherson.
Known to start a fight out of sheer boredom or madness — no one is ever truly sure which — Caelen suddenly finds himself in the middle of battles he has no desire to fight, but fight them he will if it means he can have Fiona McPherson as his own.

There is always a wee bit of truth in every rumor.

Caelen’s Wife was an outstanding romance that swept me away instantly. This book is the fourth of the series, but is really the complete collection of the series. Its a tale that surrounds this one couple. This book contains books 1-3. And of course, we have one of my recent favorite narrators “Brad Wills” telling the tale and man he did such a great job and his VOICE….like seriously, the songs he sings….BRILLIANT!! I honestly can’t get enough of his work and he does fantastic with telling a Suzan Tisdale romance.

This book begins, when there is a rumor surrounding the Clan McPherson and the water on their land which is said to be “magical” and lately Fiona McPherson has been receiving countless marriage offers which she obviously turns down when all they want her for is “to enrich their clans” which she has no idea what that really means. The McPherson Clan is a small clan, but a strong one. Fiona became the Laird of the clan, when her husband passed away. She trains both men and women to fight and defend themselves. Now she is a strong leader, but she envies the love her brothers have for their wives and the children they have, knowing that will never happen for her. That she will live the rest of her life alone because of her promise and vow she made when her husband died to keep the clan their own.

There is a new development though, their sheep are being stolen, and with the only signs on who is responsible is the Clan McDunnah. So Fiona goes to confront their Laird….Caelen who claims he has no idea what she is talking about and that his clan isn’t responsible. But Caelen is intrigued, because he knew Fiona years ago, and finds her lovely whether she is in a gown or her fighting gear.  Caelen is fascinated with Fiona, she is a strong leader, a good fighter and sexy as all get out and he only wants to get to know her more. But then the attacks start to increase, and when Fiona’s best friend is killed in a raid, she is just about ready to go to war when evidence comes up that proves that Caelen and his clan are innocent and that someone else wants them to war with each other.

But a strong love starts to develop between Caelen and Fiona, but there is a problem….they can’t be together unless one of them gives up being Laird. But as they search for the real villain behind the attacks, their love strengthens as they attempt to find a way to be together….

This was an amazing read and I had a blast with this forbidden romance. And boy this book was simply so hilarious. I love Suzan Tisdale’s writing, because she can just make me laugh and the narrator brings out the emotion in just the right way. And boy she writes Highlander romances so well. What I really got a kick out of is Fiona because yeah she kicks ass. She is a strong fighter and a steady leader who loves her people. And it is heartbreaking at times to see how these attacks effect their clan. There is a moment in the story that really breaks your heart View Spoiler » I really was curious on who was responsible, but the ending was simply perfect especially in seeing how Caelen and Fiona find a way to be together, and yeah Caelen is all alpha male in all the good ways of course. I love how wonderful he is with Fiona though, he is patient and understanding. The heat level in the book is low, and yet its very provoking at times. I love how well the chemistry is written despite the low level of heat in the story.

Want to hear a sample of this fabulous narrator…check it out below. This is a sample from Wee William’s Woman, a book in one of Suzan Tisdale’s series. Which we do see this characters in other books which is fun. 🙂

About Suzan Tisdale

USA Today Bestselling Author, storyteller and cheeky wench, SUZAN TISDALE lives in the Midwest with her verra handsome carpenter husband. All but one of her children have left the nest. Her pets consist of dust bunnies and a dozen poodle-sized, backyard-dwelling groundhogs – all of which run as free and unrestrained as the voices in her head. And she doesn’t own a single pair of yoga pants, much to the shock and horror of her fellow authors. She prefers to write in her pajamas.

Suzan writes Scottish historical romance/fiction, with honorable and perfectly imperfect heroes and strong, feisty heroines. And bad guys she kills off in delightfully wicked ways.

She published her first novel, Laiden’s Daughter, in December, 2011, as a gift for her mother. That one book started a journey which has led to fifteen published titles, with two more being released in the spring of 2017. To date, she has sold more than 350,000 copies of her books around the world. They have been translated into four foreign languages (Italian, French, German, and Spanish.)

You will find her books in digital, paperback, and audiobook formats.
