At A Glace: Month Of July

Blogging News

So July hasn’t been too bad of a month. Lets start with the blog!! So I have been working on reformatting my meme headers to match the style of the blog a bit more and I had some fun with them. It was a bit time consuming, but I lucked out on a good deal from Creative Market. I am not expert at design, however I am having a blast with it. I have been able to pick up some good reads as well as a couple of duds that just didn’t end up working out. I also started my first bookstragram account. Now I do have my personal instagram account. But I created this one specifically for sharing my bookish fun and shots and get involved in the bookstagram community, which I know is pretty huge and involved. Here is my first shot—not sure what my style is going to be quite yet….I am going to experiment for a while and see what fits me the best. So if you do bookstagramming—-let me know in the comments below so I can FOLLOW ya!! πŸ™‚

In my personal life, things have been going pretty good. Still working quite a bit, and been working on a project for school so been pretty busy with that. I did have some family from Canada come down to visit for a week and also did a belated bridal shower and bachelorrette party for my sister that got married a couple months ago and she is also PREGNANT!! EEK…I am so thrilled for her. Its seems a bit fast, but then they have been dating since November pretty seriously. She already has a five year old son, and I know she has been wanting another one especially since she found this incredible man she married. Its so amazing, to see a sister who has had the worst luck with men and been treated pretty horribly, so to see her with a man who cherishes and respects her is so incredible to me. And y’all know what a romantic I am. πŸ™‚ I am planning on moving out of my apartment in a couple weeks, and move in with my parents for about a month so I can save more money and spend some quality time with the family before the big move. Two months away and I can’t wait. Also I have been getting back into some more coloring!!! This page “The Fish Pond” from Enchanted Forest, took me about three days….but man did I have fun with it. Have you done any fun adult coloring lately?

Had a blast with the fish pond #johannabasford #adultcoloring #enchantedforestcoloringbook #prismacolorpencils

I have a few more books for my Blogger Shame Challenge but I’m pretty much on track and ahead on my Goodreads one. I’m surprised because reading has been hard for me this summer. I think it’s because I got off to a good start in early 2016. So I can afford to slack some lol

I’ll go check you out on Instagram – I’m teamsheltie (I mix books, dogs, etc)

I am pretty behind on the blogger shame challenge, but my next few reads for august…will help with it. πŸ™‚ Good job on the goodreads challenge. I am like you though, I never know if I will go into reading slumps throughout the year, so I usually just read quite a bit in the beginning so I can be ahead just in case I need to be.

Yes it was a pretty good month!! I just used my email I use specifically for this blog. And through the app I can switch easily through both which is nice.

Oo I’ll have to see if I can figure that out. Last time I tried it required a different phone number and I only have the one. That would be nice to be able to do multiples!

Well what I did, was went to their online site, and signed up with just my username and email. It didn’t require any phone number so you can try it that way ?

Your new blog meme headers all look great! I love seeing pretty designs, but I suck at making my own, so i usually ask someone else for help. I don’t have an instagram account, but I am always impressed at some of the pictures I see from others. many people share the picture son their blog as well or other social media sites which is nice.

Ah that’s so nice to hear your sister found a great man who cherished her after the bad luck she has. Your colouring page looks amazing! I only have gotten done half of a page this month, will have to finish it soon!

I am doing not so good with the blogger shame challenge as well, only got one book read of my goal for 6. Don’t think I’ll make it. But I am doing pretty well on most of my other goals.

aww Thanks Lola!!! I used to be pretty bad too, its why until last year I didn’t even attempt it and I didn’t want to have to pay a ton of money or have a long wait to get a pretty design. I hear ya about instagram though. There are so many people that do these fancy props with their books, hopefully I can find my own style I love.

Coloring is so much fun, and there is so much you can do with it. I did have quite a bit of fun with this page. Probably my favorite one I have done so far.

Yes I am really happy for my sister, she definitely deserves it.

Oh I so need to get caught up on the blogger shame challenge, definitely need to work on it more.

You read a lot of great books this month. I’m jealous. I enjoyed Rock Wedding too. It was so good to see Abe and Sarah finally get themselves back together. I loved seeing how much Abe grew over the course of the series. Good for him.

I’ll have to follow you on Instagram, I love bookstagram accounts. They’re always so creative and I love book pictures so I look forward to seeing you find your bookstagram footing. Good luck with that. πŸ™‚

I really liked The Highlander too! Kerrigan Byrne is such a great writer. I just heard about A Promise of Fire today and it looks like a book I will love. I also need to read Rock Wedding soon.

I just adore Byrne so much, she is definitely becoming a favorite and quite refreshing for a modern historical romance author. You will really love A Promise of Fire and Rock Wedding. Both books are fabulous and are right up your alley. Hope you get to them soon.

You are SO much better with graphic design than I am! I am sooo terrible at it and don’t even try, at this point. πŸ˜€ I loving your coloring page! And I think I’ll need to try that Byrne book. I keep seeing it all over your blog! πŸ˜‰
