Plot and Story Line
First off, I will say that this book is NOT for everyone. So if you aren’t a fan of the BDSM lifestyle, I wouldn’t recommend this book at all. However if you do like it, or you like shifter romances I would say grab this one up. Now there were some things I didn’t like about this one, but for the most part it was a likable read and I really liked the shifter wolf lifestyle we are introduced into. Now I didn’t realize before I read this that it had BDSM elements in it. So my bad, for not reading the publisher’s note on that one. But I did like the actual feels that we get from this book. The romance was well done despite the negative aspects I felt for it. I was also intrigued by our couple from the first book of the series, where the heroine is Melissa’s sister. And their relationship was so tight and I just couldn’t get enough of how close knit these two sisters were to each other. Now onto the actual romance we have here. My biggest issue wasn’t necessarily the BDSM elements, I don’t mind lite BDSM in a romance. But this one was a bit more intense that I like to read. There were a couple of scenes that had me cringing so bad. So in all honestly, I did have some issues with the bed room type scenes, they just aren’t what I am comfortable with, a bit too extreme for my taste. But there were other aspects of the story that I did enjoy quite a bit.
The Cover
Okay I will admit, I have a weakness for a muscular sculpted back, So I quite love this cover. And the forest night backdrop is a nice touch.
Overall View
The Alpha’s Promise is a well written erotic romance that is bound to scorch the pages yet give you all the emotion you expect in a love story.
I don’t know that I’ve read many paranormals that have BDSM themes so this might be worth checking out. Nice review!
Thanks!!! If you like BDSM, then I would recommend it. But yeah not many PNR has that added aspect in it.
Hmm, I don’t mind BDSM in stories, but I am picky about how it’s portrayed. Interesting having it as an element in a PNR. Neat that the romance and the sisters relationship made it a good read for you. I’ll have to keep this series in mind when I’m in the mood for a hot read.
I am picky about it too, but I did like seeing it mixed in with PNR.
glad to hear you still enjoyed it despite the BDSM. I haven’t really developed into that aspect myself, not sure if I would enjoy it.
yeah its not something that is for everyone. I really only like lite aspects of BDSM, the more heavy stuff just seems a bit too much for me.
This sounds good! Nice review
