Seoafin “Finnie” Wilde was taught by her parents that every breath was a treasure and to seek every adventure she could find. And she learns this lesson the hard way when they perish in a plane crash. But she never forgets and when she discovers there is a parallel universe where every person has a twin, she finds a witch who can send her there so she can have the adventure of a lifetime.

But upon arrival in the Winter Wonderland of Lunwyn, she realizes she’s been played by her twin and finds herself walking down the aisle to be wed to The Drakkar.

Thrown into inauspicious circumstances, with years of practice, Finnie bests the challenges and digs into her adventure. But as Frey Drakkar discovers the woman who is his new wife is not Princess Sjofn, a woman he dislikes but instead, his Finnie, a free-spirit with a thirst for venture just like him, without her knowledge he orders his new bride bound to his frozen world, everlasting.

But at the same time Frey plunges Finnie into a web of political intrigue that includes assassination plots, poison, magic, mystery and… dragons.

Wildest Dreams is a story that takes us to a parallel world….a universe that has dragons, witches, kings and warriors, assassination plots, poison, magic and a epic love story that will take your breath away with every page!!

Wildest Dreams is one of my favorite reads of the year and I have had the opportunity to read some AMAZING Books and this book tops them all here. I have known about this series for a couple of years now, but honestly, I have no clue why I was such an idiot and didn’t read these SOONER because this book “takes the cake” like honestly I have so much love for this book. I decided that I wanted to find more fantasy romance this year and I knew about these books, so when I saw it available on the Audible’s romance package I snatched it up and listened to it in two days and its close to twenty hours LONG folks.

Our story begins when our heroine who has been grieving her parents on Earth for a few years now. She has never been the same since they were killed in a plane crash. So when she learns that there is a witch that can transport her to a parallel world where she has her own twin, she goes in search of her and comes with an agreement with her twin self. That they will switch places for a year and that Finnie will be able to spend time with the parents of this different world. Her parents taught her to have adventure and never look back, always looking forward.

But when she arrives to Winter Wonderland of Lunwyn, she learns that she is about to be married The Drakkar—-king of dragons and elves. One of the most powerful men in this world and he doesn’t like her nor are her parents what she imagined that they would be. After being married, The Drakkar takes her into the forest and drops her off alone into an isolated cabin for a month.

But when Frey Drakkar learns is that his Wife is not who he assumes her to be. He learns from his elves that she is his true ice queen, the woman he was fated to love and the one woman that will stand by his side and not the winter princess Seofin who prefers women over men. As Frey and Finnie start to build a life together, going on adventures and learning to love and share passion, there is a plot to kill Finnie, but will their love be strong enough or will they lose each other to their enemies???………

Somehow, someway, I had to figure out how to talk my husband (and the king and queen) into accepting me as a replacement for good and communicate with Sjofn that her hopes for Lunwyn had come true. I was going to stay with the man I loved in this fabulous world that had elves and dragons (and people who wanted to kill me, but I decided not to think of that). And I was going to do it forever.

This book packed a powerful punch and I honestly couldn’t get enough. First off, I have such a weakness for a great fantasy romance and this book delivered everything I was looking for and MORE. Second, this is a royalty romance and I just love this theme. Now I will say that at times Frey is an ass, he is prideful and stubborn and he tends to keep things from Finnie. I don’t blame him too much, since the men of this world are raised to think this way, to protect their women and take care of the “details” on their own. But Finnie isn’t one of their own, she is independent and willful and prefers to fight her own battles.

“Where on earth did you come from,
baby?”
Frey’s brows drew together and he asked softly back, “Pardon?”
My thumb stroked his jaw before I whispered, “My handsome husband is gentle, thoughtful and kind. He laughs and smiles easily and he makes me feel safe. I was with your folks for about five minutes and they were so far from any of that, it is not funny. So,” I squeezed his neck, “where did you come from?”

The romance that builds between Frey and Finnie was very heartfelt even from the beginning when their relationship just begins, I just wanted to immerse myself in the “moment” because their relationship was so vibrantly penned. We see so much character growth, from both characters but mostly from Finnie. What I truly appreciated about her character was the way that she grows SO much. Because she adapts to this world, she wants to enjoy every moment of this world and of her husband and lover…Frey. I love how she works with Frey in many ways, and she doesn’t resist the customs and their “ways” or laws like some modern women might. She takes into her role as princess and eventually Queen very well and you see how the people just fall in love with her. Because she is kind and courageous and she honestly doesn’t have a mean bone in her body unless she is defending those she loves the most.

I love you, Frey. I’m in love with you. So in love, I’ll never stop loving you. Not ever. You, everything about you is beyond my wildest dreams.

I will say that the ending really worked me on an emotional level, there is such a great climax and boy I guarantee that it will work through your emotions so well. I honestly didn’t think that this book would do that as much as it did…but why should I be surprised with the author being KA.

This wonderful worldbuilding is a true testament to the talent of Kristen Ashley and I was drawn into it so immensely and I honestly felt so much real and vibrant details that just made this book come alive!! If you are a sucker for fantasy romance and royal romance with action and intrigue….GRAB THIS ONE…I promise that you won’t regret it.

About Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
