A Highlander’s Passion is the second book in the series, and I loved it just as much as the first book. This series takes place in the modern day, but we are dealing with a clan of highlander bear shifters, and a bit of magical witches as well. First off I would like to say that these bear shifters are sexy as sin, and I wanna get me some of that. What we have here is a heroine, that has always been in love with Bryce, but when he made a mistake and betrayed her trust, she found herself pregnant, and another man became interested in her, She marries him and finds out he is a monster, and she has just become free of him, but not before losing two bairns due to physical abuse. We see that there is a strong attraction between Bryce and Kenzie, but Kenzie doesn’t trust Bryce not to hurt her, and she is just learning that she is wiccan, but we also see that Bryce and Kenzie have always had a strong bond to each other, ever since they were children. I loved the building of the relationship, they do have quite a sexual connection, and sparks tend to fly. But we also see just as much focus on the emotional side of things, and I loved the balance we see the author implements in the story. The villain we see in the story, well he is one cruel man and needs to be put down. It was quite exciting to see how the story unraveled, in very unique and ways that you don’t expect. There were a couple of times that I had a difficult time styaing in tune with the story, the flow felt a bit off a few times, but overall this story was full of sexy shifters, tempting desire, and enough conflict to keep you on edge.
