It was to be her greatest masquerade . . .
Pamela Darby needs a man—preferably a Highland brute with more brawn than brains. Determined to save her sister from selling her virtue, the resourceful beauty requires a strapping specimen to pose as a duke's long-lost heir. Pamela plans to collect the generous reward, then send him on his way. Lucky for the brazen beauty, the seductive, silver-eyed highwayman who just held up their carriage could be her man . . .
Connor Kincaid has given up on his dream of restoring his clan's honor. And now this plucky Englishwoman is asking him to take part in a risky charade that could land them both on the gallows. Never a man to resist a challenge or the allure of a beautiful woman, Connor strikes the devil's bargain that could seal both their fates. The highwayman and the hellion journey to London as both enemies and allies—a woman who has everything to gain and a man who has nothing to lose . . . but his heart.

My Review Updated

Summary

Pamela Darby needs a man to take on a role in a most deceptive masquerade. Pamela and her sister are in dire straits. After their mother was murdered in a fire, they were left destitute. If they don’t find a way to get money soon, then her sister will be forced to sell her virtue away. Which Pamela refuses to let happen. On their way in a carriage, they get stopped by a highwayman. Through a series of events Pamela and the mysterious Connor Kincaid join forces to go on this charade for Connor to pose as a English Nobelman’s son who disappeared when he was only a baby. Connor is a man who likes to takes risks, because he feels he has nothing to lose, so he takes part of the charade. But from the moment that they arrive, Connor and Pamela’s chemistry builds to explosive proportions, but there is also that matter of a killer around the estate and if they aren’t careful then their lives will be forfeit.

The Hero

Connor Kincaid lost everything when he was fifteen years old. Connor was raised by loving parents, his father left the comforts of the English Aristocracy to bring the Clan Kincaid together. But then the red coats murdered his parents, and Connor was the only one to take care of his sister who he sent to England for her own safety. For years he has struggled to survive with his clan. But Connor left them and has been on his own with some rugged ruffians. He has a price on his head and he knows that his time is numbered. Connor has had to do things to survive, that haunt him to this day and he regrets not being able to be a part of his sister’s life. Connor was such a fun and sexy hero!! Quite amusing at times. I loved his humor and how he looked at life.

The Heroine

Pamela Darby has had to take on the honor of being the responsible one in the family. Their mother was reckless and selfish and demanding but they still loved and adored their mother. Pamela is desperate for funds, so when they find a letter about what happened to Duke’s lost wife and heir, she discovered a way to survive and a way to protect her sister. Pamela understands the risks, but she also knows the reward is worth the risk to herself. Pamela was a heroine I was a bit nervous about at first. She isn’t your typical historical heroine, but she definitely grew on me pretty quickly. She is bold, daring, and not afraid to go after what she wants. She is more serious minded at times, but it makes sense since she is very practical and logical at times.

Plot and Story Line

Some Like It Wild is the conclusion of this duo series and boy did I have fun with Connor’s story. After the ending of the first book, Some Like It Wicked, I was on tender hooks wondering how Connor gets out of a certain problem. This story starts off with seeing acting all dangerous and sexy as a highwayman. Connor is a man that has had to turn to criminal activity to survive, but has never hurt anyone unless it was self defense. He despises the English with a passion, which is understandable considering how horrific this time was for the Scots. Even those moments of the retelling of his parents killings…I definitely understood his side of things and I would hate the English too. What I found most interesting to the plot was this Charade that Pamela creates and so creative was this aspect that I loved it. I even fell in love with the Duke even. He was quite adorable at times. Even the cousin who is next in line, I never really suspected of foul play. Out of all the side characters to not like it would be the Duke’s sister. Something was off about her and I had a bad vibe about her. Its not until the end though that all is revealed about the true killer of Pamela’s mother. What I liked though was the building romance between Connor and Pamela. These two are posing as an engaged couple, so they end up being alone quite a bit which leaves plenty of time for some sexy moments between the two. This romance was quite fun and quirky and I loved the various moments these two have together. The ending though—was simply perfection!! I couldn’t have come up with a better end for Connor and the reunion between Connor and his sister was so sweet. I about teared up. Teresa Medeiros has written another fantastic romance to fully become engaged it!!! Highly recommend.

The Cover

Beautiful dress!! I just adore the green in this cover. I really like how flowy it looks and has a forestry feel to it.

Overall View

Some Like It Wild is a carefree, witty and fun romance that takes on a road of passion, secrets, mystery, danger and a love worth fighting for!! CREATIVE AND SEXY!!
